My husband and I purchased a Chevy spark new from a dealer. it ended up financed through flag ship .

the 1st time I called them I had to go through their collection dept. to talk to someone in the finance dept. IT took for ever to get to talk to the loan dept. they kept insisting we had a collection account with them .

we were not notified for two months that our loan was even picked up by them. we were notified after we called them a month after we had purchased the car. we thought we owed a payment in the first month . they informed us we would be receiving a letter from them.

our payment wasn't due until the second month after we purchased the car. After our initial call to them the car was totaled in a accident. we contacted our insurance co who didn't pay the car off until the fourth month of our purchase date. it was paid in full and the insurance co claimed they could not pay off the lender because they had not perfected the title until then.

As soon as flagship proved to the insurance co that they had a perfected title the insurance paid off. Flagship was fully aware that they were being paid in full. in the mean time we had to purchase a new vehicle and the loan was placed with a different lender. in December I pulled a credit report on myself and flagship had reported me to the credit bureau as 120 days delinquent with a balance of 3012.00 owed and that the account had been charged off .

when I called to ask why it was reported this way and how much they had charged off and why did they charge off the account at all when they knew they were being paid in full. they told me they only charged off 2.00 When I asked why I was not contacted about a bal of 2.00 no one could give me an answer. I told them If I would have been contacted then I would have paid the 2.00 to avoid a charge off. when I asked why my account was even charged off as it is not customary to charge off an account that is paid off with a balance of less than 25.00, (that is customary in lending) no one has yet given me an answer.

I hadn't made any payments for 120 days and that they knew nothing about a balance owed of 3012.00. I have made numerous calls to them with no cooperation in this matter and my credit has been seriously damaged by them. they refuse to correct the credit bureau and or make any concessions in the name of customer service. these people are rip off artists and have a collectors mentality .

after months of contacting flagship with the same complaint each time they elevated my complaint to the office of what they call the president . I spoke with a man named Johnathon. He seemed confused and ill informed of my complaint . after I reiterated what had been transpiring between flagship customer service and myself he said he would not do anything to help me he said that he was bond by flagship policies I had told him that my husband had passed away and he said he understood only placating me to make me think he was sympathetic to my problem but continued to refuse to change anything and claiming he didn't have any record of how they were reporting to the bureau or if they even did report the way I was telling him .

When I asked to speak to his boss he adamantly refused telling me he was as far up the line I was going to get .

when i asked the name of the owner of his flagship or the CEO he claimed he didn't know who that person was . I am going to file a complaint with the banking commission and consumer protection.

Reason of review: the way they reported to the credit bureau when they were paid off . .

Monetary Loss: $17000.

Preferred solution: correct the credit bueau to state account paid in full and remove the derogatory reporting that they have recently reported .

Flagship Credit Acceptance Cons: Poor business ethics, Customer service reps and managers rude, I did not like.
