Awefull customer service treats customer like they are a collection agency who doesnt know the law

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My husband and I purchased a Chevy spark new from a dealer. it ended up financed through flag ship .

the 1st time I called them I had to go through their collection dept. to talk to someone in the finance dept. IT took for ever to get to talk to the loan dept. they kept insisting we had a collection account with them .

we were not notified for two months that our loan was even picked up by them. we were notified after we called them a month after we had purchased the car. we thought we owed a payment in the first month . they informed us we would be receiving a letter from them.

our payment wasn't due until the second month after we purchased the car. After our initial call to them the car was totaled in a accident. we contacted our insurance co who didn't pay the car off until the fourth month of our purchase date. it was paid in full and the insurance co claimed they could not pay off the lender because they had not perfected the title until then.

As soon as flagship proved to the insurance co that they had a perfected title the insurance paid off. Flagship was fully aware that they were being paid in full. in the mean time we had to purchase a new vehicle and the loan was placed with a different lender. in December I pulled a credit report on myself and flagship had reported me to the credit bureau as 120 days delinquent with a balance of 3012.00 owed and that the account had been charged off .

when I called to ask why it was reported this way and how much they had charged off and why did they charge off the account at all when they knew they were being paid in full. they told me they only charged off 2.00 When I asked why I was not contacted about a bal of 2.00 no one could give me an answer. I told them If I would have been contacted then I would have paid the 2.00 to avoid a charge off. when I asked why my account was even charged off as it is not customary to charge off an account that is paid off with a balance of less than 25.00, (that is customary in lending) no one has yet given me an answer.

I hadn't made any payments for 120 days and that they knew nothing about a balance owed of 3012.00. I have made numerous calls to them with no cooperation in this matter and my credit has been seriously damaged by them. they refuse to correct the credit bureau and or make any concessions in the name of customer service. these people are rip off artists and have a collectors mentality .

after months of contacting flagship with the same complaint each time they elevated my complaint to the office of what they call the president . I spoke with a man named Johnathon. He seemed confused and ill informed of my complaint . after I reiterated what had been transpiring between flagship customer service and myself he said he would not do anything to help me he said that he was bond by flagship policies I had told him that my husband had passed away and he said he understood only placating me to make me think he was sympathetic to my problem but continued to refuse to change anything and claiming he didn't have any record of how they were reporting to the bureau or if they even did report the way I was telling him .

When I asked to speak to his boss he adamantly refused telling me he was as far up the line I was going to get .

when i asked the name of the owner of his flagship or the CEO he claimed he didn't know who that person was . I am going to file a complaint with the banking commission and consumer protection.

PREDATORY LENDING

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

SOLD A WRECK 2016 HYUNDAI ELANTRA FROM A USED CAR LOT WITH IN TWO WEEKS THE CAR RAN HOT THIS IS WHEN I FOUND OUT THE CAR HAD BEEN IN A WRECK. "DIAMOND AUTOMOTIVE" OFF LOOP 410 SAN ANTONIO TEXAS, SOLD ME A WRECK CAR ANDTHEY RAN A CARFAX ON THE CAR WHEN I RETURN TO THE LOT( NO HISTORY CAR BEEN WRECK) WHEN IDROVE OFF THE LOT.

I HAD NO LEGAL FINANCIAL PAPER WORK TO PROVE I CAN AFFORD A $425.79 CAR PAYMENT. DIAMONDS ACCEPTED 500.00 DOLLARS FOR A DOWN PAYMENT ON A 2016 VEHICLE. I AM NOW FIGHTING THE FIANCE COMPANY ABOUT THIS BAD BUISNESS DEAL. I STARTED JULY OF 2016 WITH THESE LENDERS, NOTHING HAS BEEN RIGHT SINCE I STARTED MAKING PAYMENTS WITH FLAGSHIP, THEY WOULD NOT LET ME REFIANCE THE VEHICLE AND NOW THAT I REPORTED THE CAR STOLEN TO THEM THEY DONOT EVEN CALL FOR THE PAYMENT OF 425.79.

WHEN I DID SPEAK WITH THEM THEY SAID " YOU SIGNED YOUR NAME ON THE CONTRACT" BUT I EXPLAIN TO THEM THAT THIS IS CALLED PREDATORY LENDING UNFAIR, DECEPTIVE FRAUDULENT PRACTICES IMPOSING UNFAIR AND ABUSIVE LOAN TERMS ON BORROWERS. I WANT THIS COMPANY SHUT DOWN THEY HAVE RUINED CONSUMERS CREDIT SCORE AND PRACTICE FRAUDULENT BUSINESS LOANS.

MY CREDIT SCORE WAS GOOD UNTIL I WENT THROUGH THIS COMPANY. FDIC NEEDS TO SHUT THEM DOWN!!!!

The only reason they have the "F" phoney rating is because DOD NOT BUT their "A" phoney rating! The BBB is NOT part of ANY government body.

Those PHONEY RATINGS are PURCHASED by ANY because which wants one!

ANY BUSINESS, good or bad can BUY the BBB phoney rating. If you want to talk scam here, the BBB leads the way and that FACT is well known in the business community.

Guest

Oh they did fix the problem the thing is why sell a wreck car and not have it reported on car fax. Without knowing IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORST.

Like I said did not know the car was wreck" They knew. Lemon Law

Guest

What a bunch of BS! Any mechanical problems are between you and the seller...PERIOD!

It was YOU who agreed to make on time payments and it is YOU who is whining and crying because you don't want to do that. Nobody forced you into this deal and nobody pounced upon you and dragged you into the dealership either.

Furthermore...this is a subprime deadbeat lender and the ONLY reason you ended up with them is because of YOUR reputation of NOT paying YOUR bills on time. I'm sure you have hundreds of excuses for that as well!

I PAY my bills this is the only mishap I have ever faced in purchasing a car. I always would pay cash for my car this is the first time I been through something like this. BOTH of these business will be shut down. They are crooked business people.

I PAY MY BILLS I GOT GOT ON THIS DEAL.

GOD WILL FIX IT, HE WILL MAKE THE CROOKED ROAD STRAIGHT. Bad Business

Just dealt with this myself. Here is the take-away (hope it helps):

NEVER deal with them personally (only do so if absolutely necessary, i.e.

to get info as to where to find what you need via your online account, and keep it simple). Always use online payment systems and records. Log into your About My Loan account and get the payoff information directly from their system. Then use Western Union to send EXACTLY that amount.

You then follow up with an EMAIL to them stating that you have paid it off via Western Union (yep, $4.50 to do it but more than worth it for your sanity and peace of mind). PUT THE WESTERN UNION TRACKING NUMBER IN YOUR EMAIL TO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Again, state clearly in that email that YOU HAVE PAID OFF THE VEHICLE PER THE PAYOFF AMOUNT SHOWN (note the day and date of that amount) and ask when you can expect your pink slip.

More info below if you choose to read on...

I just spend an hour on the phone trying to get my pay-off amount. I finally quoted them the following: "Per my State's laws, fixed-term consumer loans MUST have a final pay-off date and amount.

It would be most unfortunate if I would have to engage our State Attorney General and the Department of Corporations regarding this issue..."

I couldn't finish my sentence before the "customer service rep" (I use that term very lightly with these people) finally showed me exactly where I could find my payoff amount IN WRITING (I don't trust their word on squat). I of course have saved a digital copy of this for my records.

Also, NEVER SEND THESE B*STARDS CHECKS!!! EVER!!!

I know the game... the check "gets lost", they never get it (even if you've put TRACKING on the check and can PROVE they received it!!!). Instead, pay the couple of bucks and log into the ELECTRONIC system and push the payment through. Western Union ALWAYS gives a receipt and time stamp.

This coupled with the payoff amount downloaded from THEIR system (which INCLUDES the date that amount is effective - which BTW is good for 10 days) is sufficient legal proof. What's important is for your to get this over with ASAP. PAY THIS OFF ONLINE ASAP TO GET THIS OVER WITH. Once you do that, time to have some fun.

Depending on your state, there should be a law stipulating that for secured, fixed-term consumer loans the issuing institution MUST provide you a FINAL PAYOFF AMOUNT. The fact that you repeatedly sent them checks in good faith to pay off your debt may be cause for legal action. The State Attorney General and Department of Corporations may be able to help you. Report their scummy arses!!!

Submit proof that you mailed those checks (i.e. upload proof of mailing, tracking information etc.).

Get the company's full legal name, and provide them with the CEO's office address. Sit back and enjoy the savagery.

They put words in my mouth

I have paid over 10,000 on my car...never late...amount I paid girl the car $16,000. I am not able to make the payments as of July 2017.. I still owe 10,000. I spoke with flagship on several occasions...asked them to pick up the car or I would bring to a location. I even had the car sold for 9,000 ..but they wouldn't allow it. Instead they continue to let it sit. Yes I know I bought it and should pay for it...but I am unable to work and have no one to make the payments. Hard times happen to us all. I only want to give it back. I have let it sit so that it won't get more wear and tear on it. When I speak with them (Flagship) ...they put words in my mouth. I explain I can't make the payment...then they will come back with how it's not so simple to reposse...and how they can sell the car for $1000 if they want and I will have to pay the other 9,000. And on top of that I won't have the car and I will have it on my credit report. I understand the credit report...but if I could pay the 9,000...why would I give it back? So I ask them this question..they said.. so are you saying you are going to keep the car now? It's like whatever I say they try to "rephrase" my question into a totally different question. I know it's all for the "recorded line". But all I want is to do the next best thing since I can't make the payments right now.

CUSTOMER SERVICE ISSUES

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

From the date of approval and purchase of my new car, I received a call within a few days to finalize information and that was fine. Over the next 30 days I received 3 calls per day, during work hours and each day a message saying " Welcome to flagship" call us back with any questions on your new loan.

Well I had no questions so I am not calling back. Finally they called and I had time and I answered. "Hi welcome", gave me information I received in the 10 mailings they sent me over 30 days. I asked them not to call me again about this.

3 more times and the call finally stopped. I made my first payment on my due date through western union from their website and set up bi monthly payments. The next day at 8:30 am they called again. "where's your first payment" .

I hung up with them - called Capital One and they are now paid off. I got a better interest rate with a much better company. Only reason I went with these characters was because the dealership talked me into their creditor instead of my preapproval from Capital One.

Must get kickbacks. Thanks Fucillos.

Terrible!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I went from having a 760 credit score to a bottom point in life. I never knew what it was to spend more than 30 minutes in a dealership and then off I went with my brand new car.

I recently traded in my car and purchased my new truck. They never sent me a welcome package and then sent my account to collections after being 10 days delinquent. I called, scrambled to get their payment and the woman was talking over me, strong arming me. She said that this is unacceptable as they paid the dealership $30k and the least I could do is pay the payment.

She was rude and even cussed at mme while talking over me.

They act as though you buying your new car was an inconvenience. Take it from someone who has had several vehicle loans through big name banks, the car is not worth the headache from going through this company!

Here's the deadbeat mentality! YOU were late on what YOU described as one of the FIRST payments of the loan!

So you come here to cry and whine about their BILL COLLECTORS calling you! By YOU not doing what YOU agreed to do...PAY ON TIME...you told those bill collectors to call you!

If you don't want bill collectors to call you, then pay your bills on time! How hard is THAT for you to understand???

NO VALID COMPLAINT

Complainer fails to pay on time causing bill collectors to call and then complains about what they caused!

Right, sure! You can't even make your payments on time and you're going to hire an attorney?

Funny. Funny. If you had a clue of what you were talking about, then you would know FDCPA is NOT applicable with them!

Again, funny, funny! The hilarious part is the FACT which you apparently can't comprehend...if you don't want bill collectors to call, then pay your bills on time!

I don't see that anyone is WHINING as you say. I see that people who may have hit a rough spot for what ever reason is making a statement that YOU at Flagship are harassing them for a payment , Instead of trying to help work together like other MAJOR finance companies.

And from reading you're comments help me make my decision to not go through this company !!! because unlike you I know life happens and I know that sometimes you can't always pay on time and do not deserve to be talked to like that .

You’re such a big person Anonymous. Flagship is a a less than scrupulous company and should be fully investigated.

Just so you know...sites such as this one is where people air their grievances. It’s not like these people came to your house to complain to you personally.

Stop being a troll and go get a life. Have several seats.

Beyond Horrible

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My husband got extremely sick and on 1 income we could not afford the car and we contacted them to turn it over...we started the process voluntary not them and prior to the bill being too late...3 months ago...car is still here! At first they were beyond helpful and now we still for some odd reason we still have the car, they have not picked it up yet. Tonight at 8:55 they call and literally screaming at me for not paying for car that we had already signed for pick up. Once I explained that she went evil and started yelling at me to make sure the car is here. I said to her where do you think the car will be? It's here waiting for you to pick up. She was so judgemental and nasty really made us feel like dirt. It's horrible how when you try to do the right thing they still treat you evil.
